Summer Project: Storyboard
For our summer project we have to create a music video independently, we have to include lip sync and take in to account all of the editing, camera angles and mis-en-scene that we include in our video.
I chose my song, Fleetwood Mac: The Chain, because this song contains interesting lyrics, which I can base the visuals on for example on the line "Listen to the wind blow" I can film a shot of tall grass blowing in the wind to go over this line in my video. The song itself is mostly very relaxed and connotes a countryside feel to with the song, for example the use of an acoustic guitar, therefor my shots can be mostly based on scenery and other things and not have to require a large budget, in other words it will be easy to shoot footage and I will be able to focus more on the editing, which requires more skill and patience in my opinion.
In my video I want to include Animation, to contrast the scenic Mis-En-Scene, I want to use animated text, reminiscent of Rolling Stones: Paint it Black music video, to highlight certain verses as well as grab the viewers attention and to add variety to the music video.
I also want top include Lip Sync, in the chorus, mostly because it features multiple singers, I want my lip sync to be similar to one of the shots in Queen: bohemian rhapsody, where one singer is clear while the others are faded so they appear transparent. This is a decent Editing technique and will make the video seem more professional and eye catching.
